Colonel (Ret) Jo Rusin had a distinguished career in the Regular Army. She led three companies, two battalions, and a non-divisional support brigade in VII Corps during Desert Shield/Desert Storm as the senior woman commander. Colonel Rusin was one of the first women to command a mixed-gender Army company. She is also a famous author, having published several books on military leadership, including Move to the Front and Women on Your Team, which discuss gender issues in the military from both men's and women's perspectives. Move Out, a military leadership guide, and Military Writing is Colonel Rusin's other books.
